Coronavirus -- Brief History and Information
In late 2019, numerous individuals in and around Wuhan, China came down with a new type of respiratory illness. Since that time, the virus has spread in and around Wuhan, as well as to other countries. At present, the virus is being called a novel Coronavirus (nCoV), in that is was part of the coronavirus family. The virus has subsequently been named CoViD-19, for Corona Virus Disease 2019, or CoViD-19.
The New Philadelphia City Health Department (NPCHD) wants the residents of New Philadelphia to have the most up-to-date information available. Also, NPCHD understands that in this age of cyber-news, there is a lot of disinformation. NPCHD wants to povided the most accurate information that is currently available. To that end, the NPCHD is providing this link to the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Coronavirus Information website.
ODH is working with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to better understand this virus, as well as to protect the citizens of Ohio from this disease.
